Garry’s main inspirations were his mother, who was more of an experimental cook trying out new products and an aunt who was the traditional cook - her roast pigeons were sensational. Another aunt made the best Honey Biscuits in the world.
Upon leaving home to work in Adelaide, Garry was fascinated by the Central Market which became his regular Saturday morning activity, strolling, talking, tasting... Some of his best footy was played on a lunch of kalamata olives and an oil roll.
